About Borderless Money Guide

Last updated 23 October 2026

Borderless Money Guide is an independent publication that explains, in plain English, how money works when your life or your work crosses borders. We write for freelancers with clients in other countries, remote employees, digital nomads, expats and anyone who sends money home.

Why this site exists

Getting paid by a client abroad, opening an account as a non-resident or choosing health insurance for life in another country should not require reading ten provider websites and three forum threads. Fees hide in exchange rates, rules differ from one country to the next and most comparison pages are written by the providers themselves.

Our goal is to give you the full picture in one place: how each thing works, what it really costs, what can go wrong and which questions to ask before you decide.

Who is behind the site

Borderless Money Guide is a small, independent project based in Spain and owned by Ignasi Genís Flores (full details in our legal notice). Articles are published under the Borderless Money Guide Editorial Team byline, which covers everyone who researches, writes, edits and reviews a guide.

We are not a bank, a payment company, an insurer or a tax advisory firm, and we are not owned by one.

How we work

  • Sources first. Every guide is based on official sources: provider fee pages and terms, regulators, tax authorities and international bodies such as the OECD. We link the main sources at the end of each article.
  • Reviewed and dated. Each article shows when it was published and when it was last reviewed. Fees and rules change often, so we review guides regularly and when we learn of a change.
  • Information, not advice. We explain how things usually work. We do not know your situation, so for tax, legal, investment or insurance decisions, confirm with a qualified professional. Read our financial disclaimer.

The full process is described in our editorial policy.

How we make money

The site is free to read. It is funded by advertising (Google AdSense) and, in some articles, by affiliate links: if you open an account or buy a product through one of them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Commissions never decide what we recommend or how we rank options. Details are in our affiliate disclosure.

Found an error?

We would rather fix a mistake than leave it online. If a fee, rule or link is wrong or out of date, write to us with the page and what you found, and we will check it and correct the article.
